It was the period, during the National Lockdown in 2020, that was the spark for this interesting series of short stories. During this time, most of us spent months locked inside our homes. Many people developed feelings of anxiety, fear and sadness, whereas some felt feelings of togetherness, respect and love. Feelings were intensified ‘between the four walls’ of many a household around the world, nonetheless. And it were those prolonged, intense emotions that were felt by our homes - bringing them to life! The characters (Ivan, Lilly, Hugo, Tyson, Tula, Cleo, Hannah and Carlo) were subsequently born.
Though each of their stories make no reference to Lockdown and life around that period (and knowing that each dwelling has now moved on from their original locations), their energy taken from us is a reminder that our mood can certainly affect the way our homes feel.
The Dwellings- the concept and the characters
Hugo
